How to implement a Medical Aesthetic Practice

Hot Topics: A medical aesthetician is  licensed as an aesthetician and has obtained the necessary skills, theory and practical for performing therapeutic skin care The medical aesthetician is not licensed as a medical aesthetician but has obtained the necessary skills and theory to perform each skill safely for the physicians practice.

Depending upon how you set up the medical skin care program each nurse, aesthetician or other health care  practitioner should first all be licensed in their perspective  area of study. A nurse rather they licensed as a practical nurse or registered nurse may provide the medical aesthetic care if they are nurses but it must be in accordance to their license. For instance, a nurse can perform medical aesthetic procedures only with a physician in the premises. An aesthetician may provide aesthetic care within the physicians practice or independently. The medical aesthetic skills can be performed by physicians, nurses and advanced trained aestheticians. Physicians should receive specialized skin care training so that he/she has a greater understanding how to refer their patients to the medical aesthetic program and what would benefit their patients best.

Benefit of integrating  medical aestheticians

Until the physician has actually hired a properly trained aesthetician for their medical aesthetic practice there will be minimal differences in the office unless a physician  buys into a pre-bought ...pre-boxed skin care program with big costs to him/her and minimal returns. An aesthetician understands the dynamics of skin from an aesthetic perspective as well how to perform skin care management treatments to minimize various skin care qualms.

Medical Aestheticians benefit the physicians  both by skills and bringing a new kind of patient-client-customer to the program that otherwise would not come into his/her office.

Benefit of integrating nurse-aestheticians

The physician ( Family Practice ) will ascertain the benefits of hiring an aesthetician for various specialized skills integrated within his /her office. The hiring of a nurse-aesthetician can be outstandingly beneficial to the whole concept of medical aesthetics.  A nurse-aesthetician generally holds two licenses or may have one license but must have both backgrounds. The nurse -aesthetician is a graduate of "accredited" nursing program ( vocational-registered ) and have obtained an aesthetic license as well. It is very important that the individual have completed an advanced medical aesthetic program to complete a broad background to work with this specialty.

What does a physician need to know before opening a medical aesthetic practice?

You need to obtain the business perspectives, patient care relevancy and understand how your practice contributes to benefiting your patient care. The nurse needs aesthetic skills that can only promote skin health wellness. The aesthetician needs to understand the medical perspectives that must be incorporated with their care of the skin. The physician should be aware of all the skills that are being providing in the office/hospital medical skin care program.

What skills are applied in the office/hospital

The skills performed are not limited to product selling and pampering facials. Most physicians utilizing an aesthetician or nurse without advanced skills will be disappointed in costs and production. Skills should include tattoo reversals, titration, S.E.R.T., stretch mark  refinement and so much more than what is traditionally performed in aesthetics or mainstream medical practice. Medical Aestheticians, nurse-aestheticians, and triple licensed aesthetic skin care specialists are utilized differently than standardized nursing. The most needed skills obtained today for successful thriving aesthetic medicine practices must go beyond  injections and costly equipment.

New Cosmetic Dermatology Services

Medical Aesthetics provides physicians an opportunity to enhance their patient care through the aesthetic services provided by clinically diversified nurse-aestheticians.

Specialized aestheticians in medical aesthetics gain a broad knowledge base by which to integrate clinical skin care programs that both address an aesthetic concern as well as a medical aesthetic qualm. Physicians seeking a well trained advanced aesthetician should feel confident that aestheticians provide their patients therapeutic skin care programs beyond the pampering and yet are able to address their patients aesthetic concerns in a safe manner.
